Photo-Topo Guides: easy to use

Route finding made easy!

Carreg y Barcud, Grey Face Topo

Thanks for visiting this site. I have temporarily taken away the ability to buy the guides online it down to sort out some glitches. I hope it will be back up and running soon. Meanwhile, you can buy the guides from TYF Adventure www.tyf.com.

Photo Topos are here to make your rock climbing experience simpler. These easy to use climbing guides combine clear photography and local knowledge, picking out the most popular routes on the best crags to give climbers an easy to carry, easy to read guidebook for each area.

Each guidebook has a general location map, introduction to the area and a ready reckoner to see in an instant how many routes, of what grade, are at each crag. Every cliff has specific, easy to follow approach directions. The guidebooks are weather protected with every page heat laminated and the whole lot held together with a wide metal ring big enough for a karabiner. Alternatively, they are small enough to fit in a pocket or stuff down the back of your pants!

#1. The Southern Bays of St Davids PeninsularCLICK TO ENLARGE Map and Route Info.

The Southern Bays hold a host of single pitch, low and middle grade climbs on friendly sandstone with excellent friction and positive holds. There's also a handful of tougher routes to have a go at either on the lead or with a top rope. The crags included are:

Porthclais (Grey Slab & Red Wall)
Porth y Ffynnon
St Non's (Initiation Slabs)
Craig Caerfai
Carreg y Barcud.

Please note: not every known route is included - these guides give you a wide choice of the best and most popular. The comprehensive Climbers Club guide to Pembroke will satisfy those looking for more and adventurers should find their own way.
